Dear Brothers and Sisters:

    It is with many mixed emotions that I announce I am relinquishing my duties as the President of our Local effective immediately.

         ANNUAL FAMILY PICNIC

    PERMIT EXTENDING 12 HOUR DAY ON

                 A VOLUNTARY BASIS

   The attached letters (2) explain the annual extension ATU Local 583 and the City of Calgary have agreed to participate in on a voluntary basis.  This permit must be renewed each year to be valid.  Of particular note for Local 583 are points #2 and #3 which you will find on the second page under the link named Employment Standards Approval.  If you have any questions or concerns with this matter please contact the Union office via email or by phone.

 IMPLEMENTATION OF PAY RATES

On behalf of the Negotiations Committee and the Executive Board I would like to thank the membership for your patience during this round of negotiations with the City of Calgary.  Your continued support is recognized and respected by the employer and is a key element in allowing us to reach the best Collective Agreement we can.

On a separate note we would like to inform you that your new rate of pay will appear on the March 11th pay advice and your retroactive pay will be issued on April 8th.
